The Parish of St Saviour, Mortomley, High Green, held a celebration weekend (Friday 30th September - Sunday 2nd October) to mark the completion of the re-ordering of the Church.
Years of renovation work on the interior and exterior of the building have seen the church undergo a major transformation .The original plans for the re-ordering were conceived in 1965, and shortly after, an extension was built onto the side of the Church.
In more recent years, a new chapel has been added as well as the addition of a new organ, heating, electrics and furniture. To celebrate the new look, a flower festival took place.Bishop David Hallatt joined a special service on 2.10.05
The Vicar of Mortomley St Saviour, Revd Ed Mitchell, said:
“It feels like we have a new church, and the weekend celebrations will give people the chance to see the changes that have taken place”.
